Questions we actually get asked

About the kits

Are these printable files or physical cards?
Physical cards. Printed, cut, sorted by unit and lesson, and boxed with labels. Nothing arrives as a PDF for you to run off yourself.
Do the kits match my version of the curriculum?
We build separate kits for IM® K–5 Math and IM® v.360. They are not the same product relabeled — lessons moved between versions, some language changed, and the cards moved with them.
What is the difference between the three kit levels?
Lessons Only Card Decks cover every lesson card in the grade. Centers & Lessons Card Decks add all center activities. The Card Deck + Game Board Bundle adds the game boards.
Do you make kits for Grades 6–8?
Yes, for IM® v.360 only.
Are the cards laminated?
No. We believe in keeping costs reasonable for schools, so our materials are not laminated — but they are durable. Everything is cut from 80 lb card stock built to take a year of student use. For the game boards, page protectors are an easy and inexpensive way to add life to them, and that is what we do ourselves.
How long will a kit last?
The materials are specified for a full school year of daily use, and most classrooms reuse the sets in year two.

Ordering and payment

Why is there no shopping cart?
We want to give districts the opportunity to provide their tax exemption. If you would rather pay by credit card, email us at sales@themathmodernist.com and we can make it happen.
Do you accept purchase orders?
Yes, on Net 30 terms for approved district POs.
We are tax exempt. How do we handle that?
Send us your certificate with your request and tax comes off before the quote is issued.
Can we try one grade before committing?
Yes, and most districts do. There is no minimum order.
When do we need to order for September?
Work back a month from your first teaching day, then add a margin for your own PO process. We ship as orders come in and summer is the busiest queue of the year, so the honest answer depends on what is already booked when your PO lands. Send the quote request with your first teaching day on it and we will tell you straight away whether that date is achievable — before you commit any money to it.
